- Boss Zonke, Ricky Rick, Rowlene
She writes, sings and is even a self-taught producer and while she may be the new kid on the block, Rowlene captivating voice and writing is what sets her apart from other musicians & puts her in a class of her own.
Ask her when she knew she was a singer, and the one-named performer will tell you she has been singing for as long as she can remember. Born in Cape Town, Rowlene has been on her musical journey straight from high school and now, under the guidance of Nasty C’s manager Zyne Marcus, her pie-in-the-sky dream is manifesting into reality. “I had a lot of support growing up,” the 19-year-old beauty explains. “My parents have always encouraged me to follow my dreams.” Roleen taught herself how to sing earlier on, and then progressed on to writing and composing her own music.
My parents have always encouraged me to follow my dreams.
Rowlene attributes the collaboration “Dance With You” to a chance encounter, when Boss Zonke heard one of her tracks at the studio and expressed a keen interest in laying down a verse or two. “I’m a huge Ricky Rick fan. It’s an honour to have him on my album.” And while that debut album isn’t out yet—she’s shooting for a mid-2017 release— She says that the album will feature a perfection combination of hip-hop, soul, dance and R&B, a mix that complements her unique voice.
I’m a huge Ricky Rick fan. It’s an honour to have him on my album.
The single is produced by RJ Beatz and Randall Jean Pierre, Dance With You is written and composed by Rowlene and available on iTunes.
My review:
The combination of the guitar and hip hop beats is well engineered and complemented by Rowlene’s angelic voice in the beginning of the song where she is explaining how she wants to dance with this lucky guy who is watching her waving his hair.
Should I go on about Riky Rick’s verses? That would be rhetoric…He kills it, this single has grown in me ever since it landed on my hands. #OnRepeat
I cannot wait for the video to be out to see the “couple” of song showing off their dance moves. I have a feeling that Boss Zonke will be the gangster and Rowlene being the Cinderella LOL!!! And lastly, the artwork is beautiful…Well done guys! You guys must watch out for Rowlene julle!!!
My Ratings:10/10
